Serves as the governing body of the county. Consists of
seven members elected at-large for staggered three-year terms. Members
elect a director each year to conduct meetings and act as board spokesperson.
The freeholders conduct public meetings on the second and fourth Wednesday
of each month at 7:30 p.m. Work sessions are held the same day at 9:30
a.m.

Records all county land records and related legal documents.
Prepares, prints and distributes absentee, machine and sample ballots
for all elections, and officially tabulates and certifies the results.
Processes passport and notary public applications and issues county ID's.
The County Clerk may also perform marriages. Elected for a five-year term.

Administers Bureau of Law Enforcement, which is responsible
for courthouse security, serving civil processes, and augmenting other
law enforcement agencies with crime scene processing, evidence analysis,
photography lab, communications center, K-9, bomb disposal, and emergency
services. Also administers Bureau of Corrections, which is responsible
for the operation of the county jail and the care and custody of jail
inmates and individuals sentenced to the Sheriff's Labor Assistance Program.
Elected every 3 years.

The Surrogate is the Judge of the Surrogate's Court which probates
wills, qualifies executors, administrators and trustees. The Surrogate
directs various activities including
adoptions and incompetency matters. Elected every 5 years.
